A Neutral Look at the Beach

Good Monday morning! I hope you had a fabulous weekend and are ready for the week, and for Halloween. We are back from our fall vacation to the sunshine state. It may seem like a weird time for a beach vacation, but fall is actually a great time to visit Destin, Florida. The Annual Fishing Rodeo commences in October, the beaches aren’t crowded, the rates are cheaper and there are no long waits at restaurants. We are fortunate to go with family and have made it an annual tradition. The weather was all over the place while in Florida this month and so were my outfits. It literally ranged from hanging out at the beach in swimsuits one day to buying a coat the next day. #truestory A day later it was back to shorts. #bipolarweather Thankfully I brought along this cardigan, just in case. Since it turned cold and windy a couple of days, we waited til evening to hit the beach to enjoy the sunset. This neutral cardigan was just enough coverage to keep warm while the sun was out. And the sunset did not disappoint.

Neutrals at the beach — No matter the weather, you just can’t beat a beach sunset.

I love the look of a basic white tee and neutrals with distressed jeans for a day at the beach, shopping or just about anywhere you want to go. It’s a casual, simple look, and oh so comfortable. This white t-shirt is thick, for good coverage, but not heavy or bulky. I added some tassel earrings and rose gold accessories for a little bling.

We have vacationed in Destin in the month of October a few times, but this is the first time I have ever had to wear a coat or sweater. We thought we were trading in our sweaters for a week of sunshine and swimsuits. #mothernaturefooledus We made the most of it by sightseeing and shopping on the coldest days. Honestly, the beach is my therapy — even on a colder day.
