Let’s talk about the casual summer maxi dress. A style that makes wearing a dress so do-able (if that’s even a word??). It is comfortable and slimming. It can be dressed up or down. It is cooler than wearing pants, but still covers your legs to keep them warm in the a/c. You can wear with heels to dress it up, or flats for simplicity of style.
A maxi dress is one of my favorite looks this summer. This dress accentuates the waist, but isn’t too body conscious.
This dress is from one of my favorite brands, International Concepts or INC. This color is no longer available, however, the same ruched style maxi dress is available in cool turquoise and white, and also in black and white at Macy’s.
I usually carry a larger purse, but on the weekends, it’s nice to lighten my load and carry a clutch with just a few essential items. This neutral clutch goes with so many outfits. You can find this one here
You can add to this look, by adding a jacket or cardigan or even a denim jacket. I am usually reaching for a cardigan or jacket when we head out because I am always cold in the a/c. But, in this Texas heat — I am NOT complaining about cool air-conditioned buildings. At. All.

If you haven’t noticed — I love statement earrings, but often skip a necklace in lieu of. I don’t know if that’s always a good idea, but it fits for me. Sometimes you just gotta go with whatever works. #amIright?
