Bright Colors for Your Summer Wardrobe

This summer’s fashion looks are all about bright colors.  Bright colored handbags, shoes, as well as the fabrics.  Strong hues are no longer solely for fashion risk takers — they’re for everyone.  Whether it’s bold blue, bright yellow, or plush purple, there is surely one for us all.

I must confess, I love, love, love bright colors.  #obsessed  And summer is the perfect time to indulge in this obsession.  I love bright pink, coral, yellow and turquoise to name a few.  Mixing bright colors together makes getting dressed more fun, but it is a bit of a risk.  I enjoy mixing multiple brights for a bold look.  But a more subtle way is to have just a pop of color with bright accent pieces, like bright shoes and a bright clutch with coordinating earrings, etc.

 

I took a risk of wearing bright on bright with this yellow peplum top and a bright pink tank under.  I am totally digging the peplum tops this summer.  (ok.  I might be dating myself by using the term ‘digging it’, but #justgowithit)  They are comfortable and look great on any body type.  You can wear them with shorts, jeans or capri pants.  And a peplum top is great for brunch, work, or date night.

I sometimes mix brights with a pastel or soft color, like chambray to keep the focus on just one color.

I’m no color expert, but bright colors brighten my spirits.  Like when I see a bright bouquet of fresh flowers.  I immediately have to stop to admire them, and usually take in a big whiff too.  And wearing bright colors really puts me in a good mood.  That is not to say I don’t love a good neutral theme too.  But for summer, I’ll be reaching for this yellow shirt and other bright colored fabrics often.  What are your favorite colors to wear this summer?
